Two Women Dead in Early Morning Car Crash on Northwest Side

A tragic car crash early Sunday morning left two women dead on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Around 12:16 a.m., a red sedan, driven by a 29-year-old man, collided with a black SUV carrying three women. The crash happened on the 8700 block of West Irving Park Road, just as it looked like the driver of the sedan was trying to make a turn.

Sadly, two of the women, aged 30 and 56, passed away shortly after the crash at nearby hospitals. The third woman, 23, along with the driver of the red sedan, were taken to Lutheran General Hospital and are in fair condition.

Police also believe a gray sedan may have been hit during the incident, but the 22-year-old driver of that car was unharmed and declined medical attention.

As of now, no tickets have been issued, and detectives are still investigating what caused the crash.
