Trump’s First-Day Executive Orders: Big Moves on Immigration, Energy, and Crypto

On his first day in office, President-elect Donald Trump is expected to make a splash with a series of executive orders. These actions will focus on key issues like immigration, energy policy, and cryptocurrency regulation, all with the goal of fulfilling some of his biggest campaign promises and shaking up current U.S. policies.

Delivering on Promises to the American People

Incoming White House Press Secretary, Leavitt, shared that Trump plans to use his executive power to quickly deliver on promises made to the American people. “We’ll secure our southern border, fast-track permits for fracking and drilling, and take action to stop what we’ve seen as transgender madness in this country,” Leavitt said.

The Biggest Deportation in U.S. History

Trump is planning what could be the largest mass deportation of undocumented migrants the U.S. has ever seen. His team is also discussing bringing back Title 42, the policy that allowed asylum seekers to be expelled during the pandemic, which ended in May 2023. Leavitt mentioned that securing the southern border and tackling illegal immigration would be a top priority.

    Mass Deportation of Criminals

In addition to deporting undocumented migrants, Trump’s team is gearing up to remove illegal criminals from U.S. soil. Leavitt explained that Trump can immediately empower local and federal law enforcement to identify, detain, and deport those criminals “roaming freely in our country.”

    Reviving Energy Growth

When it comes to energy, Trump is pushing for policies that will boost fossil fuel industries. By expediting permits for fracking and drilling, Trump is aiming to ensure energy independence and spark economic growth—an important promise made on the campaign trail.

    Trump’s Push for Cryptocurrencies

On the crypto front, Trump is positioning himself as a “crypto president.” His team is looking to introduce policies that will support the growing cryptocurrency industry. In fact, Trump’s team is under pressure to issue executive orders that could pave the way for mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.

    Building America’s Crypto Future

Trump’s spokesperson, Brian Hughes, assured that the administration is committed to encouraging American leadership in the crypto space. They’re even considering investing $21 billion to establish a Bitcoin reserve, positioning the U.S. as a global leader in the cryptocurrency market. Trump is also looking to prevent banks from blocking cryptocurrency companies from accessing financial services.

    Creating a New Crypto Council

Plans are underway to create a crypto industry council, which will help address challenges in the industry and foster innovation. The administration may also direct agencies to review and potentially revise existing regulations that affect crypto businesses, creating a friendlier environment for them to thrive.

The Direction of the Trump Administration

While these executive orders won’t instantly change everything, they’re expected to signal the direction Trump wants to take the country. Financial expert Jonah Krane believes that the early days will focus on setting the stage for future actions, saying, “I wouldn’t be surprised to see an executive order directing agencies to reassess their rules in the crypto space.”

In short, Trump’s first day in office promises to bring significant changes, with big moves on immigration, energy, and cryptocurrency—all in line with his campaign promises. Let’s see how these decisions unfold in the coming days!
