The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) recently reported the deaths of two inmates at correctional facilities in Lovelock and Carson City.
Anthony Quinones, 36, was pronounced dead on December 14 at the Lovelock Correctional Center. Quinones had been incarcerated since March 2020, after being sentenced to a term ranging from 91 months to 228 months for kidnapping and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Quinones, along with another individual, was convicted for a 2019 incident in which they abducted a man and forced him to withdraw money at gunpoint from a credit union in Spanish Springs. Quinones’ next of kin have been notified of his death, though the cause of death has not been revealed. NDOC has requested an autopsy to determine the exact cause.
William Redman, 71, died on December 24 at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. Redman had been serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the 2011 murder of his 12-year-old daughter in Clark County, Nevada. He had been incarcerated at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center at the time of his death. According to court records, Redman killed his daughter in their Las Vegas mobile home, believing he needed to kill both her and himself to prevent Armageddon. NDOC reports that no next of kin have been identified for Redman. Like Quinones, Redman’s cause of death remains undetermined, with an autopsy also requested.
The deaths of both inmates are currently under investigation by NDOC. While the authorities have not yet released specific details regarding the causes of death, they have confirmed that autopsies will be conducted for both Quinones and Redman.
The NDOC will continue to provide updates as investigations progress, and more details on the inmates’ deaths may emerge once the autopsies are completed.
