Biden Honors 19 Legendary Figures with the Presidential Medal of Freedom: Clinton, Soros, and More

In a landmark ceremony this Saturday, President Joe Biden will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States’ highest civilian honor, to 19 individuals who have shaped the nation’s future and the world. Among the recipients are former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Democratic megadonor George Soros.

The White House has praised these honorees for their exceptional contributions to the prosperity, security, and values of America, as well as global peace.

Clinton, a trailblazer for women in politics, made history in 2016 as the first female presidential nominee from a major political party. Despite her failed bid for the presidency, her impact on American politics remains undeniable. Soros, a Hungarian-born billionaire and philanthropist, is renowned for funding progressive causes and institutions that promote democracy and human rights.

Other notable figures receiving the award include legendary actor Denzel Washington, U2’s Bono, fashion icon Ralph Lauren, soccer star Lionel Messi, and “Back to the Future” actor Michael J. Fox. Also being recognized is Jane Goodall, the primatologist known for her groundbreaking work with chimpanzees, and Tim Gill, an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.

This prestigious ceremony not only celebrates the outstanding achievements of these individuals but also highlights the values of leadership, integrity, and a commitment to positive change in society.
