George Conway, a conservative lawyer and vocal critic of Donald Trump, shared his thoughts on the former president’s recent threats to sue media outlets and critics. Speaking on MSNBC, Conway made it clear that if Trump goes ahead with these lawsuits, it will only make him look “like the fool that he is.”
Conway explained that Trump’s legal threats, including his plan to sue Iowa pollster Ann Selzer for “election interference,” don’t have any solid legal ground. He believes these actions are just attempts to harass people and silence criticism. “You need a real legal reason to sue, but here, it’s all just nonsense,” Conway said.
He went on to point out the absurdity of Trump suing a pollster just because a poll didn’t show him leading. After all, Conway reminded everyone, Trump has been known to lie about poll results, often claiming he’s always ahead, even when he’s not.
“This is all just manipulation,” Conway added, describing Trump’s actions as typical of a narcissist who uses intimidation and bullying to control others. But Conway believes Trump might be pushing his luck. He predicts that these lawsuits, like the one against the Des Moines Register, will backfire. Lawyers could face sanctions, and in the end, Trump will end up with “egg on his face.”
Conway’s message is clear: If Trump keeps pushing these baseless lawsuits, it’s only going to make him look worse, not better.
