Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard is seeking re-election. Below is information from his official announcement.
Bullard said, “In 2017, after spending over 26 years in the field of law enforcement, I decided to run and with the help of the voters, we made history.”

“In December of 2018, I assembled my team, we rolled up our sleeves, and got to work. Every goal I set during the campaign we achieved in the first year. Plus we have acquired more than $856,000 in grant funding to assist with infrastructure improvements at the courthouse, Justice Center, and security related improvements for local county schools.

“It has been my dream to be a peace officer since I was a small child. I am living that dream and so thankful for it. There is still much work to do and I am committed to doing it. Our sleeves are still rolled up and we are still working. I told the voters in my original campaign that if they would have me, I intended to be Sheriff for at least four terms. That being said, I am officially announcing my candidacy to run for re-election as Jefferson County Sheriff.

“I am so thankful for the overwhelming public support my campaign and administration has received over the past four years. I am honored to serve as the people’s top lawman and hope to continue doing so for many years in the future. I hope to get everyone’s vote in the Republican primary June 28 and then in the general election November 8.”
