On December 11, four South Central FFA Members participated in the State Agronomy Career Development Event, held at the University of Illinois at Champaign. The competition required students to identify weeds, seeds, crops, insects, and equipment, and judge grain quality. It also tests the students overall agronomic knowledge with a small exam. Forty four FFA Chapters, and 158 students all together, participated in the competition from around the state of Illinois. Out of the forty four chapters participating, South Central FFA placed 7th. South Central FFA member, Eli Arenas, placed 9th place individually out of the 158 members participating in the competition. Advisor TJ Bolin was proud of the members for their hard work and dedication to the event.
