Old Goshen Trail Chapter NSDAR installs officers
The Old Goshen Trail Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution met in the one room school at the Jefferson County Historical Society in Mt. Vernon. New officers who were elected in March were installed by Chapter Chaplain Janet Minor Buchanan. Those officers are Reva Maxey McKee, First Vice Regent; Barb Shurtz, Second Vice Regent; Leslie Threatt McGuire, Treasurer; and Jené Day Simmons, Corresponding Secretary.
The Daughters of the American Revolution is an organization with a deeply rich history while also being truly relevant in today’s world. More than 1,000,000 women have joined the organization since it was founded over 125 years ago. They became members to honor their heritage as well as make a difference in their communities across the country and the world.
