Marion County real estate tax bills mailed

The Marion County Treasurer’s Office has announced the mailing of 2021 payable 2022 Real Estate Tax Bills. The total number of bills is 34,472. The total amount of Marion County Real Estate Taxes billed is $40,527,909.04 plus, $2,107,670.52 in Railroad Taxes to be collected.

1) The due dates are now July 27, 2022, and September 27, 2022.

2) Please review your bill before payment or make sure you received your bill especially if you bought or sold a property, settled an estate, transferred a property or paid off a mortgage within the last year.

3) The Treasurer’s Office is temporarily moving to Room 103, the Courthouse Boardroom, during remodeling at the Courthouse.

If making payments at the Marion County Courthouse please be prepared for ongoing construction challenges, security screening, limited parking and waiting in line during busy payment times due to remodeling. The Treasurer’s Office is committed to serving taxpayers in the best manner possible during this collection season and through ongoing Courthouse construction.

Payments options include mailing in your payment, paying at most local banks and credit unions, or using the drop box on the west side of the courthouse. If payers are using online bill pay from your checking account, please include Property Index Number with your payment. ACH checking account payments (E-checks) or credit/ debit card payments can be made online at ilmarion.com.

The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday– Friday to receive in-person payments. If for any reason you do not receive your bill, call the Treasurer’s office at 618-548-3858.
