Marion County Genealogical Society to hold meeting

Marion County Genealogical Society will have its monthly meeting, at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 27. Every June a local church is featured, and this year it will be the Salem Presbyterian Church, located at 201 East McMackin Street. There will be the usual business meeting and a presentation about the church’s history and the beautiful pulpit, donated by William Jennings Bryan. The presentation may include information about the help given to slaves before and during the Civil War.
Finger foods and drinks will be provided. The public is invited.
Looking ahead, the July meeting will have Cary O’Dell discussing his book on Johnny Bob Harrell of Louisville.
