Local church wraps up “Zoomerang” VBS

August 2, 2022

Salem Lutheran Church was extremely pleased and excited to offer their Vacation Bible School “Zoomerang” to 144 students the week of July 18-22.

Zoomerang is a sanctity of life VBS in the land down under! Like a boomerang, we are returning kids to the value of life, from the lives of preborn babies to eternal life in the kingdom of God. Participants marveled at the unforgettable wildlife, culture, and beauty of Australia while discovering that from the tiniest to the oldest, each person is made in the image of God—wonderfully designed to know him and live for him!

Each day, kids learned more about one of God’s amazing attributes and how that applies to their lives. From the minute the participants arrived at Zoomerang, they were able to find clues to uncover God’s true love at the various parts of VBS:

• Bible Lessons – During the lesson time, our mates unearthed the value and wonder of all life created by God and for God.

• Games – At this location, mates ‘av a go (put in a good effort) at fun land and sea challenges or had a blast working as teams and trying out various physical challenges.

• Treats – Mates enjoyed delicious “tucker” (food) at this much-anticipated stop.

• Science & Crafts – Electrifying science experiments were explored and creative crafts were invented.

Salem Lutheran Church also had 87 adult members, youth, and friends volunteer to help in the weeks leading up to and throughout their VBS week.

The Zoomerang curriculum is a production of Answers in Genesis.

Throughout the week offering gifts were made by the children. The funds gathered this year went to support the Salem Pregnancy Care Center. Salem Lutheran Church is so very proud of the love and support that everyone showed. Thanks to the kids’ offerings $705.75 was donated to this project.

The members of Salem Lutheran Church would like to thank the parents and grandparents for bringing their children to VBS each day, for listening to them rehearse the VBS songs (over and over and over again), and for generously supporting the Salem Pregnancy Care Center with their monetary donations. They look forward to providing another exciting VBS program next summer.
