Jefferson County property tax prepayment period expiring

Jefferson County Treasurer Bob Watt has announced the prepayment period for 2022 real estate tax bills that are due in 2023 will expire on May 31, 2023. Prepayments received after that date will be returned to the sender. The conversion to the new tax billing system is well underway, and we anticipate that the real estate tax bills should be in the mail sometime in July this year. Notice will be given when the bills have been mailed.
Mobile home tax bills are expected to be mailed in June this year which means they will be due in August, or possibly September. The exact due date has not been determined at this time. Notice will be given when the bills have been mailed.
