JCHS to host chili luncheon February 25
Jefferson County Historical Society is hosting their annual chili luncheon fund raiser from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 25 The luncheon will be held at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building in Veterans Memorial Park in Mt. Vernon. Choices are chili and crackers or a pork tenderloin sandwich and chips with a drink and dessert for $8.00. This year the luncheon will be carry-out only.
The money raised benefits the Jefferson County Historical Society and supports activities, programs, and exhibits. Jefferson County Historical Society is a nonprofit organization, which relies on the support from the community. They have had to cancel many of their fundraisers due to COVID-19 limitations. They would greatly appreciate the support of the community for the chili luncheon.
With the help of these funds, the Society can continue educating visitors about the history of Jefferson County and the surrounding areas. Each month an educational and/or entertaining program is scheduled. In addition, the JCHS exhibits rotate every three years.
Guests are asked to please wear a mask while inside the Rolland Lewis Building.
