The Jefferson County Historical Society will hold a Strawberry Festival, Plant Sale and Cruise-In from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. This is the fourth annual Strawberry Festival to be held at the Historical Village. Fresh strawberry desserts will be available for purchase. This year a plant and garden sale will be part of the event and a Cruise-In will add to the festivities.

The Cruise-In will be located behind the Village by the red barn. If you are interested in participating in the Cruise-In, contact Brian Burwell at 618-246-6622. The entry fee will be by donation.

“The strawberry desserts are amazing and this year pulled pork sandwiches will also be available. You can’t beat the price on the plants that come from local gardens, and the Cruise-In is a new addition that brings a lot of fun to the day. All of the buildings and cabins will be open to tour and our featured exhibit “They Proudly Served” pays tribute to those who have served in the military. It is going to be a great day,” said Dana Uhls, Community Relations Specialist.

The Jefferson County Historical Village is located at 1411 North 27th Street in Mt. Vernon. For more information contact the Historical Society office at 618-246-0033.
