Family events at Brehm Library

The C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library in Mt. Vernon offers a variety of classes and special presentations. One of their upcoming events is Family Movie Night which will be held on November 19. Kids must be accompanied by an adult and adults must be accompanied by a kid. Because of the licensing agreement they can’t advertise what movies they will be showing, so call them at 618-242-6322 to find out the titles. Free popcorn and bottled water. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., movie starts at 7:00 p.m.

Family Reading Night will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 on Thursday, November 18. Illinois reads has partnered with the Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian, Jesse White, to promote 2021 Family Reading Night. Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held the third Thursday in November to encourage families to spend quality time reading together.

The Library will be holding a Stocking Decorating Contest for all ages. They will supply the stocking, you supply the decorations and imagination. Stockings are available for pick up; please have them turned in by November 30. To get in the Christmas Spirit Brehm Library staff members will display them throughout the Library starting December 6.
