Centralia BPW awards $3,000 in scholarships

Centralia Business & Professional Women met on May 8 at the Centralia Historical Museum to award scholarships to four very deserving individuals. Each recipient will receive $750 to further their education.

Two scholarships in the category of high school graduates were awarded. Zoe Dodd and Will Graham, 2023 Centralia High School graduates, were the recipients. Zoe will be continuing her education majoring in geology at the Godfrey, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. Will plans to attend Lindenwood University, majoring in Math/Actuarial Science.

The recipient of the undergraduate category is Alyssa Lurkins. Alyssa is a 2023 graduate of Kaskaskia College and will be continuing her education at Greenville University, majoring in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.

Brittany Brough is the recipient of the 25 or over Continuing Education scholarship. Brittany will be continuing her studies with the University of Phoenix pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business.

Centralia BPW is proud to announce the establishment of the Centralia BPW Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) with all funds collected used for awarding scholarships and offering educational functions. Donations can be made by making payable to Centralia BPW Education Foundation and mailed to P.O. Box 502, Centralia, IL 62801.
