Annual Locust Street Historical Fair

May 9, 2022

The Locust Street Historical Fair was held last Saturday along the 100 and 200 blocks of Locust Street in a celebration of the history of Centralia, Illinois. Former Major John Stuehmeier gave a presentation about the historical highlights of the city in the Centralia City Council chambers.

The event featured historical trolley tours to Elmwood Cemetery, and the Civil War Reenactors of Marion County set up cannons outside the Centralia Area Historical Museum and fired them hourly.

Old fashioned craft items were on sale, and Locust Street was lined with antique cars.
