Sorority Establishes KC Scholarship

The Kaskaskia College Foundation is happy to announce that the Laureate Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi has established a $500 scholarship for women returning to school.

Beta Sigma Phi is an international non-academic sorority founded in 1931 for the social, cultural, and civic enrichment of its members. Laureate Alpha Chapter in Centralia has approximately 20 members who contribute yearly through their ways and means projects to various local charities and service organizations. Their Mission is to assist young women to further their education.

Sandy Beguelin, a member of the Service Committee for the Chapter says, “We are so happy to be able to offer this scholarship to a member of the community who wants to return to College. We are proud supporters of Kaskaskia College and are excited to now be a part of the wonderful scholarship program the College offers.”

Criteria for the scholarship include: recipient must have a high school diploma or G.E.D, resident in Marion, Clinton or Washington Counties, maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and must submit a letter outlining financial need, reason for application and future goals.
