Photo Journalism for Small Business at KC Crisp Center

The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will hold an Photo Journalism for Small Business class at the Crisp Technology Center, 2005 E. McCord St. in Centralia. Photos and videos generate more likes, shares and back-links than other form of content, but those images and videos must be pertinent, engaging and useful. In this one-of-a-kind, full-day workshop you’ll learn to use the power of the image in new, exciting and brand-building ways. No matter your level of skill with the equipment, we can give you the insight and direction required to take a more creative approach to image creation, social journalism and smart-phone and DSLR Camera videography. We’ll walk you through the settings, show you how to use a variety of accessories, teach you to process your images and video for the Web and much, much more.

Students will be walked through the settings, the placement and the theories behind what makes a great and engaging photograph. You’ll learn the most practical gear and approach possible, be shown how it can all be done in-house and the strategies required for maximum engagement in both social media and email blasts.
