KC Tina Suarez Named President Elect for IFBWC

Kaskaskia College Early Childhood Education Professor, Tina Suarez, was recently elected and installed as President-Elect for the Illinois Federation of Business Women’s Clubs, Inc. (IFBWC).

The Illinois Federation of Business Women’s Clubs, Inc. (IFBWC) is a state-wide organization that strives to make a difference in the lives of working women in Illinois.

Suarez received her Associate in Arts degree from Kaskaskia College in 1978. She later received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and minor in Psychology both from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She worked for several years for BCMW as a classroom teacher then went to assist at a local private school. She started working at Kaskaskia College in 1991 as one of the first teachers at the KC Vandalia Center and later transferred to the KC Main Campus as the program director and child care center director. She has been a member of the KC Staff now for 25 years.

Suarez says it has been a great experience being in IFBW for 25 years. “This group of ladies are amazing. We all work together to make women’s lives better in the fields of education and legislation for women. I am honored to be their president elect this year.”

The 95th Annual IFBW Convention was held in Champaign April 22-24.

Tina will be now be working with all of the local IFBW clubs throughout the state of Illinois.
