KC Drafting Students Tour Gonzalez Companies in Mo.

The Kaskaskia College Manufacturing Process class recently toured Gonzalez Companies, LLC located in Brentwood, MO. Mr. R. Patrick Judge, Managing Partner, conducted the tour.

Gonzalez Companies is a professional service firm specializing in providing design, construction management, and inspection services for municipalities, governmental agencies and private clients.

Students observed a mix of design professionals and construction managers providing exceptional services to clients from early stages of planning and throughout the entire construction and project closeout phases.

Mr. Judge reviewed varies stages of documentation drawings and stressed the importance of accuracy, communication and team work. He explained that their companies often work closely with locate firms such Engineered Fluid Inc. in Centralia and Henry, Meisenheimer and Gende in Carlyle. Mr. Judd identified opportunities for entry level positions in the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance, CADD Technicians and Field Technicians.

These tours provide career awareness, identify job accountably and introduce the students to real work environments.
