Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s residence in Anderson Township, Ohio, was burglarized on the evening of December 9, 2024, while he was in Texas for a game against the Dallas Cowboys. The break-in was discovered by model and influencer Olivia Ponton, 22, who reported the incident to authorities.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Ponton arrived at Burrow’s home and found a shattered bedroom window and the room ransacked. She immediately contacted her mother, Diane Ponton, who then called 911. In the emergency call, Diane expressed concern for her daughter’s safety, asking the dispatcher whether Olivia should hide or leave the house. Upon arrival, deputies secured the scene and collected evidence. The extent of the stolen items remains unclear, as Burrow, 28, was out of town and unable to provide a detailed inventory.
Burrow addressed the incident after a team practice, stating, “I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one. Way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share.” He expressed frustration over the public exposure of personal details following the burglary.
The nature of Burrow and Ponton’s relationship has sparked speculation, especially given Ponton’s presence at his home during the incident. The police report lists Ponton as an “employee” of Burrow, but no further details have been provided.
This burglary is part of a troubling trend targeting professional athletes. Recently, the homes of Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were also burglarized while they were away for games. Authorities are investigating these incidents, reviewing surveillance footage, and interviewing neighbors to identify potential suspects.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the burglary at Burrow’s home. No arrests have been made, and it’s unclear if this incident is connected to the other recent burglaries involving NFL players.
As the investigation unfolds, both Burrow and Ponton have refrained from making additional comments. The Bengals organization has not issued a statement regarding the incident.
This series of burglaries highlights the challenges public figures face in safeguarding their privacy and property. Authorities urge anyone with information related to these incidents to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigations.
