    Violence Near U of A: Authorities Investigate Aggravated Assault Incident

    TUCSON, Ariz. — The University of Arizona Police Department (UAPD) is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred late Friday night, January 3, near the University of Arizona campus. According to the UAPD, the incident took place at approximately 9 p.m. near the intersection of East 8th Street and Euclid Avenue. The police have provided details about the suspect and issued an alert to the public regarding the situation.

    The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build and blonde hair. He was seen carrying a handgun during the assault and was wearing a black baseball cap along with black clothing. Authorities have not yet disclosed any further information about the nature of the assault or the victim(s) involved.

    In response to the incident, the UAPD quickly issued a campus-wide alert to students and staff, advising them to avoid the area while the investigation was ongoing.
