Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies discovered the bodies of four adults at a South Hill residence near Puyallup on Tuesday during a welfare check.
According to Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Carly Cappetto, deputies initially found the bodies of a man and a woman inside the home in the 18900 block of Eastwood Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. Investigators later returned with a search warrant, uncovering the bodies of two additional adults. The genders and ages of the latter two individuals have not yet been identified.
Authorities have not disclosed the causes of death and have not yet classified the incident as a homicide. However, Cappetto indicated that the circumstances surrounding the deaths suggest they were neither accidental nor natural, necessitating a thorough investigation.
Notably, the scene showed no signs of forced entry or external threats. Deputies believe that the incident was confined to the home, with no danger posed to nearby residences. “We are confident that what occurred is fully contained within the home,” Cappetto stated.
The Sheriff’s Department had conducted multiple welfare checks at the house in the past. While prior visits did not result in forced entry, Cappetto noted that the information provided for this particular welfare check justified entry into the residence. Details about the specific nature of the information have not been disclosed.
The investigation into the deaths is ongoing, with law enforcement working to determine the identities of the deceased and the circumstances leading to their deaths. Authorities have assured the public that there is no active threat in the area.
This case has prompted questions about the events inside the home and what led to the tragic discovery. As investigators continue to piece together the details, the Sheriff’s Department urges anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Updates will be provided as the investigation develops. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
