A Memphis man, Adam Crigger, found himself in hot water after an unsettling confrontation with his wife and neighbors. The 44-year-old was arrested Sunday and now faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and vandalism.
Here’s what went down: Deputies were called to a home on Pecan Trace after reports of a serious argument. When they arrived, they found Crigger standing outside, next to a black Cadillac, acting erratically. He was holding a black BB gun and had a knife nearby.
The incident began when Crigger returned home after being gone for a week. His wife, who was in the middle of separating from him, said he was threatening to take the house in their divorce. Things escalated when Crigger smashed the front door of the house and pointed a gun at his wife, firing several shots through the door. Luckily, the victim quickly realized the weapon was a BB gun because of the “popping” noise it made.
But it didn’t stop there. Crigger also threatened neighbors and passing drivers, pointing his BB gun and making chilling threats. When questioned by police, Crigger claimed he was staying at the Peabody Hotel and that he had come to confront his wife over an argument involving his brother. He also made bizarre claims about being an undercover officer and about dying and going to heaven.
Crigger is currently being held on a $110,000 bond and is set to appear in court on December 26.
