Emergency responders in Indianapolis had a busy night after three separate crashes sent vehicles into buildings on the city’s west side. Here’s what happened.
The first incident occurred just before 2 a.m. at the Northwest Healthcare Center, located in the 6400 block of West 34th Street. A car slammed into the nursing home, leaving some noticeable damage to the building. Emergency crews rushed to the scene to assess the situation and secure the area.
About an hour later, just after 3 a.m., another crash took place—this time in the 4100 block of Rockville Road. A car crashed into a home, causing major damage to a section of the house. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with a white Nissan Altima being pulled out of the wreckage by crews and later towed away.
A man was seen in handcuffs, and police confirmed they arrested a 43-year-old man. He’s facing multiple charges, including resisting law enforcement, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, and unlawful carrying of a handgun. Officers also recovered a weapon at the scene.
Around the same time, police responded to a third crash, also on the west side. This one involved a stolen vehicle. Details about this incident are still emerging.
All three crashes are under investigation, and authorities are working to piece together exactly what happened in each case. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control during the late-night hours.
