In a shocking development, authorities have revealed that Matthew Livelsberger, the driver behind the Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump International Las Vegas Hotel, expressed personal and political grievances in two letters found on his phone.
The active-duty Army soldier, who tragically shot himself before the blast, called the incident a “wake-up call” while decrying the nation’s leadership and social issues, such as income inequality and homelessness. Livelsberger, who supported Donald Trump and his allies like Elon Musk, claimed that the explosion was a “stunt” to grab attention.
Investigators have yet to access all the data from the devices found in the vehicle, and they are examining potential links between this incident and a similar truck attack in New Orleans.
Authorities confirmed that Livelsberger had been receiving mental health assistance, though his actions were not seen as a terrorist attack. The explosion, which caused minor injuries to bystanders but no fatalities, involved fireworks-style mortars and fuel canisters found in the truck.
Livelsberger, a decorated Green Beret with extensive combat experience, had been on leave from his service in Germany. His tragic act is being investigated as a case of suicide, compounded by the struggles of PTSD. The FBI continues its search for answers and possible connections to other incidents.
