Musician Teddy Swims and his partner, fellow artist Raiche Wright, have shared the exciting news that they are expecting their first baby. Wright announced the news on Instagram on January 8, posting a series of photos taken on a beach, proudly showing off her growing baby bump. “We can’t wait to meet you, baby 🤍✨ ,” she wrote in the caption. Fans and fellow musicians flooded the comments with love and congratulations.
Swims has often spoken about how much Wright means to him, calling her a source of support and inspiration. In July, during an interview on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, Swims praised Wright for understanding his hectic lifestyle as a musician. “She does what I do, which is amazing,” he said. “I could call her at 3 a.m., and she’d say, ‘I’m in a session, recording vocals.’ I love that she’s out there chasing her dreams, too.”
Wright, a talented singer-songwriter, is best known for her 2023 album Loveland. The couple made their relationship public in early 2024, and since then, Wright has often joined Swims on tour, where they’ve performed duets together.
The baby announcement comes after a huge year for Teddy Swims. His hit song “Lose Control” was named Billboard’s Hot 100 Song of the Year for 2024. The track had a record-breaking journey, taking 32 weeks to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in March 2024. It stayed in the Top 10 for an incredible 45 weeks, making history as one of the most successful songs ever.
“Lose Control” also reached No. 1 in several countries and achieved diamond certification in France. It became the first song in nearly 10 years to lead five major airplay charts at once, including Radio Songs and Adult R&B Airplay.
Teddy Swims, whose real name is Jaten Dimsdale, started his music career by posting viral YouTube covers in 2019. He released his debut album, I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1), in 2023. His world tour that followed was a huge success, selling over 150,000 tickets across North America, Europe, and beyond.
With a new baby on the way and his music continuing to break records, 2025 is shaping up to be another exciting year for Teddy Swims.
