Paris Jackson’s Sobriety Milestone: ‘Five Years Later, I’m Grateful for Every Moment’

Paris Jackson Celebrates 5 Years of Sobriety, Reflects on Personal Growth

Paris Jackson, the 26-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, marked a significant milestone on her sobriety journey by celebrating five years of being clean and sober. Jackson took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a heartfelt message about her recovery, expressing gratitude for the life she has built since giving up drugs and alcohol.

In her Instagram Reel, Jackson, whose full name is Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson, openly shared her struggles with addiction. “Hi, I’m pk and I’m an alcoholic and a heroin addict,” she wrote in the caption. “Today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that I’m thankful would be a poor euphemism. Gratitude hardly scratches the surface.”

Jackson went on to reflect on the positive aspects of her life that sobriety has allowed her to experience. “It’s because I’m sober that I get to smile today. I get to make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. I get to feel heartbreak in all its glory. I get to grieve. I get to laugh. I get to dance,” she shared, emphasizing how sobriety has enabled her to embrace all aspects of life.

The Instagram Reel featured a montage of clips that depicted Jackson’s transformation. The video started with moments of her smoking and drinking, followed by recovery milestones, such as sobriety chips. It then showed her enjoying life sober, dancing, making music, spending time with her pets, and sharing a kiss with her fiancé, Justin “Blue” Long.

In a touching conclusion to the video, Jackson thanked those who have supported her throughout her recovery, acknowledging their role in her journey. “To those that helped me on this journey, if only for just the beginning, middle, or the whole time so far, you know who you are and I owe you my life. Thank you. 5 years. THANK GOD,” she wrote.

Paris Jackson has been candid about her mental health struggles over the years, including dealing with depression, body image issues, and past suicide attempts. However, she has found strength through self-love and affirmations, and her story continues to inspire others facing similar challenges.
