Meghan Markle’s Dog Guy Passes Away: Duchess Shares Touching Tribute and Unseen Photos

Meghan Markle Mourns the Loss of Beloved Dog Guy: A Tribute to His Loyalty and Love

Meghan Markle shared heartbreaking news with her followers on Instagram, revealing that her cherished beagle, Guy, passed away. The dog, whom Meghan adopted in 2015, had been a constant companion through pivotal moments in her life.

In an emotional tribute, the Duchess of Sussex recalled Guy’s unwavering presence through various milestones: from her time on Suits, to her engagement and marriage to Prince Harry, and even as she embraced motherhood with their children, Lilibet and Archie. Meghan’s heartfelt message detailed how Guy had been a comforting presence during both quiet and chaotic moments. “He was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort,” she wrote.

Guy’s journey began in a Kentucky kill shelter, where he was rescued by Meghan before being put down. The shelter staff had referred to him as “the little guy,” which led to Meghan naming him Guy. She also shared that he had faced a devastating accident before Meghan’s move to the UK, where doctors initially told her that he would never walk again. However, with the help of a team of dedicated vets, including Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick, Guy defied the odds and regained his ability to walk.

The Duchess expressed deep gratitude to the veterinary teams and the community that supported Guy throughout his life. She described the immense grief of his passing, revealing that she has shed many tears over the loss. “I have cried too many tears to count—the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them,” Meghan wrote, conveying the depth of her sorrow.

Guy’s impact on Meghan’s life will be honored in her upcoming Netflix series With Love, Meghan, where she hopes to share the profound connection they had and help viewers understand the significance of his loss.
