Keller Scott Fornes, Star of County Rescue, Dies at 32
Keller Scott Fornes, actor and star of Great American Family’s series County Rescue, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Eastland, Texas. He was 32 years old.
An obituary published by Lacy Funeral Home announced his death, and his memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Cowboy Church of Erath County in Stephenville, Texas.
Great American Media confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram and X on Monday, January 6, 2025. “We at Great American Media are deeply saddened by the passing of Keller Fornes. He was a special person and talent as an actor, writer, and director as well as a singer and musician,” the statement read. “His energy and enthusiasm lifted all he worked with here at Great American Media and the cast and crew of County Rescue. Our prayers are with his family and all those he touched.”
Fornes was known for his role as Griffin in County Rescue, which was preparing to begin production on its second season. His co-stars shared their grief on social media. Julia Reilly, the series lead, reposted the network’s statement alongside a photo of them together, captioning it, “Miss you.” Kristin Wollett, another co-star, shared behind-the-scenes photos, writing, “In our hearts. Always. 🤍 Keller Scott Fornes 🤍.”
American Idol alum Colton Dixon commented on Great American Media’s post, remembering Fornes as “kind and purposeful with his words,” while Candace Cameron Bure reacted with a heartfelt “💔🙏🏻.”
Beyond County Rescue, Fornes appeared in notable projects such as The Walking Dead, Genius, Found, and films like The Secrets She Keeps and Project ISISX. A graduate of the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, he also created independent films and pursued artistic passions, including painting, drawing, and music.
Fornes is survived by his wife, Margie; his parents; and two brothers. His last Instagram post, shared on December 14, featured moments from his travels and time spent with loved ones.
