Jamie Foxx made a glamorous return to the Golden Globes, attending the event a decade after his first win. He was joined by his daughters, Anelise Foxx and Corinne Foxx, as his dates. Jamie, 57, is nominated for his performance in the Netflix special Jamie Foxx: What Happened Was, which recounts the medical emergency he experienced in April 2023, including a brain bleed and stroke. The stroke occurred while filming Back in Action with Cameron Diaz in Atlanta.
For the evening, Jamie wore a sharp black suit with beaded lapels and added a floral detail to the collar, completing his look with black sunglasses. Anelise, 16, wore a stylish double-breasted white blazer with black trim and trousers, while Corinne, 30, looked stunning in a gown with an embellished bodice and dramatic slit in the skirt.
Jamie is no stranger to the Golden Globes, having won Best Actor in 2005 for his role in Ray. That year, he was also nominated for his roles in Collateral and Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story. On Instagram, Jamie expressed gratitude for his nomination and thanked fans for supporting his Netflix special. “It’s a blessing to be in the position that I’m in to be able to tell you my story in my way… I hope the jokes make you laugh and I hope the story inspires you,” he shared in a heartfelt post.
In September, Jamie also celebrated his daughter Corinne’s marriage to Joe Hooten, walking her down the aisle despite his recent health scare. Corinne shared how special it was to have her dad at her wedding, especially since he had previously won an Oscar for his role in Ray in 2005. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when we came down the aisle,” she said.
The ceremony was emotional for the whole family, with the wedding held at Jamie’s home, which had been renovated for the occasion. Corinne said, “Even though my dad has lived there for almost 20 years, the house felt brand new.” Joe Hooten also expressed how meaningful the day was, especially after everything the family went through with Jamie’s health scare.
Jamie is also a father to Anelise Bishop, 16, whom he shares with his ex Kristin Grannis. He welcomed Corinne with his ex, Connie Kline, on February 15, 1994.
