Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster were spotted together enjoying a fun and relaxed dinner in Santa Monica, California, on January 6, 2024. The former Music Man co-stars were seen arriving hand-in-hand at the restaurant. Jackman, 56, dressed casually in a dark jacket, grey shirt, and white jeans, while Foster, 49, wore a tan trench coat over an olive-colored dress.
This marked the first time the two have been seen together outside of their professional work. They were both upbeat and enjoying each other’s company as they spent the evening together.
Jackman, who recently separated from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness after 27 years of marriage, seemed to be in good spirits. Meanwhile, Foster, who recently completed a successful run of Once Upon a Mattress in Los Angeles, has also gone through a divorce from her husband, screenwriter Ted Griffin, after ten years of marriage.
Jackman and Foster’s representatives did not comment on their dinner outing. However, Jackman had attended one of the final performances of Foster’s Once Upon a Mattress at the Ahmanson Theatre just a couple of days earlier, on January 4. He was seen sitting in the audience with Carol Burnett, who originally played the role Foster performed in the 1959 production.
The two actors have shared their admiration for each other in the past. In interviews, Foster has called Jackman “one of the greatest guys ever” and praised his leadership on stage. Jackman, in turn, has spoken highly of Foster’s remarkable talent, admitting that he was a little intimidated by her long list of accolades.
Both actors have recently gone through changes in their personal lives. Jackman and Furness announced their separation in September 2023, with a joint statement expressing their gratitude for their nearly three decades together. Jackman has also said that his family remains his top priority during this time of transition.
Looking ahead, Jackman is preparing for his upcoming series of live concerts at Radio City Music Hall, titled From New York, with Love, which will begin on January 24 and run throughout 2025.
