The first completed building on the Castle Ridge grounds was the Gaetti Sports Academy, an 18,000 square foot state-of-the-art training facility for youth and high school. Last Thursday, opening day in MLB, was “Gaetti Day” in Centralia to honor former Major League Baseball player and Centralia native Gary Gaetti.

The Gaetti Sports Academy held an open house and Gaetti himself prepared and served his special New Orleans crawfish dinner. Proceeds from the event went to the Centralia Community Youth Center. Gaetti said, “I’m always happy to be able to give back to my home.” About the facility, he said, “The facility has functioned the way we wanted it to do.” He feels GSA will increase in interest once Castle “Ridge opens.
