PHOENIX – Authorities have arrested a man suspected of intentionally killing a 35-year-old victim by striking him with a vehicle on Sunday night.
Phoenix Police officers responded to the incident near 16th Street and Thomas Road, where they discovered the victim, identified as Ethan Jaaziel Felix, suffering from severe injuries. Felix was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Miguel Preciado Jr., allegedly remained at the scene briefly before fleeing. Phoenix Police swiftly launched an investigation and worked with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department to locate Preciado.
On Monday, deputies discovered Preciado’s vehicle abandoned in a desert area outside Tucson. While processing the scene, they located Preciado several miles away from the vehicle. He was taken into custody by deputies before being transferred to the Phoenix Police Department.
Preciado has been charged with one count of first-degree murder, along with additional felony charges. Details regarding the motive or circumstances leading to the incident have not yet been released, as the investigation is ongoing.
