A man was fatally shot in Roseland on the Far South Side of Chicago on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened around 2:50 p.m. in the 11000 block of South State Street. The 38-year-old man was standing outside when someone in a white SUV approached him. The shooter got out of the vehicle and fired at the man.
The man was hit in the head and twice in the chest. He was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, but he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Police did not release the man’s name. Authorities are still investigating the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
After the shooting, the suspect got back into the white SUV and drove south on State Street, leaving the area. Officers are working to gather more details on the shooter and the vehicle involved, but the investigation is still ongoing.
