STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — A Steubenville man is facing some very serious charges, including aggravated murder, after being hit with a secret indictment this week.
On Tuesday, the Columbiana County Grand Jury brought charges against 34-year-old Jeno L. Wall, also known as Mally. The charges include aggravated murder, murder, and intimidating an attorney, victim, or witness involved in a criminal case. There are also firearm-related charges, as Wall is accused of using a gun in the crime.
The case centers around the tragic death of 30-year-old Robert E. Herron, who was killed on September 9 in Wellsville, a small village in Columbiana County. Authorities say Wall is the man responsible for Herron’s murder.
Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito Abruzzino and Wellsville Police Chief Ed Wilson announced the indictment in a press release. They also revealed that Wall is currently locked up in Conneaut at the Lake Erie Correctional Institution for violating his parole from a 2021 case in Jefferson County, where he was convicted for firing a gun in a prohibited area.
In the coming weeks, Wall is expected to be moved to the Columbiana County Jail. His arraignment is set for January 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. The judge has already set Wall’s bond at a hefty $1 million.
If Wall is convicted of aggravated murder, he could face life in prison without parole. On top of that, he’d be looking at an additional mandatory three years for each of the firearm-related charges.
The intimidation charge is tied to accusations that Wall tried to interfere with the investigation after the shooting. Prosecutors and police have been working on the case for three months to bring the indictment forward.
This tragic case has shaken the Wellsville community, and the legal process will now unfold to determine Wall’s fate.
