Centralia Regional Library District is partnering with the Illinois State Library to promote the Illinois veterans history
Centralia Regional Library District is partnering with the Illinois State Library to promote the Illinois Veterans’ History Project (IVHP). Secretary of State/State Librarian Jesse White launched this project in 2005. Secretary White, himself a veteran, served as a paratrooper in the Army’s 101st division, and then became a member of the Illinois National Guard. Secretary White encourages all veterans, and civilians, who served during wartime to share their story.
Cris Cawthon, Library IVHP Coordinator, provided information to attendees of the Veteran’s Day Service at Centralia American Legion and has been invited to attend a future membership meeting of Centralia American Legion to share program information with members.
If interested in taking part in the Illinois Veterans’ History Project, as either a Veteran or the loved one of a deceased veteran who served during wartime, Illinois Patriot Information Forms are available at the Centralia Regional Library. For more information contact Cris Cawthon at 532-5222 extension 223 or by email at email@example.com.
