Swing Fore Success at the RLC Golf Outing
Golfers are set to tee off at the 35th Annual Rend Lake College Foundation Golf Outing on Sept. 17 at the Rend Lake Golf Course in Whittington. The outing will begin with an 11 a.m. lunch, followed by a noon shotgun start.
Six-person teams will play 18 holes to raise money for the RLC Warrior and Lady Warrior golf teams and RLCF scholarships. Last year, the event helped the golf teams fund travel expenses, competitions, uniforms, and other team costs. Several scholarships were also awarded as a result of the generosity of participants.
“This is our 35th year hosting this golf outing, and it’s one of the local favorites every summer. The outing fills up quickly each year, and we are thankful for the support of all the sponsors, players, and volunteers as they make the golf outing a success,” said Foundation CEO Shawna Bullard.
The entry fee for the outing is $125 per person, $50 of which is tax deductible. The entry fee covers green fees, riding carts, refreshments on the course, Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin contests for men and women, lunch, dinner, and prizes. The event will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and golfers can register as an individual or as a part of a six-player team. The deadline to register is Sept. 14.
Individuals and businesses can also participate with a number of sponsorships, including a tee-sign on the course, as lunch sponsors, as dinner sponsors, and as outing sponsors. All sponsors will be recognized at the dinner following the outing. So far, the sponsors this year are the RLC MarketPlace, RLC Golf Outlet, and B & G Venegoni Distributing.
