December 31, 2019

When all this craziness started with the whole circus of the trumped up charge of the impeachment of our President, I honestly didn’t think the Democrats would go this far. I honestly thought they would realize it was the perfect way to ensure a win of the 2020 elections for the Republicans on every level from county to state to national.

Then after their three-ring sideshow, I never thought that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi would actually even consider holding up turning over the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate. In fact, what’s being done right now is possibly unconstitutional, but until the courts determine that, let’s assume for the moment she can do whatever she wants. Needless to say, she’s demonstrated she believes that!

As much as she surely wants to get it over and move on to other things, it’s become clearer to me that Pelosi could have primary political motives.
Many are probably thinking that idea is a little farfetched. Well, just stay with me a minute and at least consider the possibility.

Could it be that this whole impeachment prank could be delayed until after the 2020 election intentionally?

For what reason, you ask. Well, she’s hoping Democrats win back the Senate (fat chance of that!) and is pulling a Merrick Garland.

Democrats are still sour about Mitch McConnell not taking up Barack Obama’s third Supreme Court pick after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.

That strategy was a huge gamble on the outcome of the 2016 election. Is Pelosi thinking she can hold on to the Articles of Impeachment indefinitely and wait at least for the Democrats to take over the Senate, as I said above? In reality, I know they won’t get the 67 seats required to throw Trump out of office. But bear in mind when Trump is re-elected but loses the Senate, they would be able to hold a Senate trial with rules set by Chuckie Schumer.
Is it getting any clearer? This theory assumes two things:

1) Pelosi assumes Trump will be re-elected, and she’s right.

2) The Democrats will take back the Senate; it’s not going to happen.

I also believe that Nancy Pelosi knows regardless of who the Democratic nominee will be, before the election is no time to hold an impeachment trial, especially when Republicans are in charge. I also suspect Pelosi knew the complications were an issue long ago, and that could be why she opposed impeachment!

At this point there is another thought to consider on this issue. We all remember the Speaker saying, “I won’t turn the Articles of Impeachment over to the Senate until they meet our demands.”

I’m convinced she knew the Senate would not do any such thing.

Case in point, they don’t have to, and at this time she’s not in the position to demand anything. She can point her finger as much as she wants.

So with all that said, we don’t need to get in any big hurry; this could take a while.

I predict in the end Trump will be acquitted or “poof,” we have a sitting President impeached because the Democrats don’t like him.

Until next week, we wish you a very happy and healthy New Year.
