Upcoming CASA training
Jefferson County has over 300 children in foster care. Of those children, Court Appointed Special Advocates serve 92 of these children. CASA is a non for profit organization that trains volunteers that fight for these abused and neglected children to make sure their basic rights and essential needs don’t get overlooked or ignored by the system. These stories can have better endings because of people like you. With a CASA volunteer, a child is half as likely to languish in the foster care and child welfare system, and that much more likely to find a safe, permanent home.
CASA of Jefferson County will hold our last training of the year on September 24 which will consist of meeting on 10 evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 on Monday and Thursday evenings. Following training they will observe court for six hours and be sworn in as officers of the court. Become part of the team at CASA of Jefferson County.
