Tyler Wishau, DPM, to give presentation on managing foot pain

Dr. Tyler Wishau, a fellowship-trained podiatric surgeon whose expertise is in performing forefoot surgery, rear foot surgery and total ankle replacement, will discuss common foot issues, including geriatric and diabetic foot concerns.

Dr. Wishau works with his patients to reduce their foot and ankle pain, prevent amputations, and recover from injuries.

Dr. Wishau also has extensive training in advanced limb salvage techniques including application of multi-planar external fixation, skin grafts, skin flaps and muscle flaps. Additionally, Dr. Wishau treats a variety of podiatric concerns including:

Dr. Wishau earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He served as chief resident during his surgical residency at SSM DePaul Health Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Wishau conducted a year fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction and limb salvage through the Professional Education and Research Institute in Roanoke, VA. He also served a five-week fellowship in Germany to train with four renowned foot and ankle orthopedic surgeons.

Dr. Wishau is an associate member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Wishau lives in Mt. Vernon with his wife and daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, running, and juggling.

During his undergraduate studies at Carthage College, he was the captain of the Men’s Cross Country team. Dr. Wishau has worked as a professional juggler at Six Flags Great America (Chicago). Most notably, in 2009, he set an International Jugglers’ Association world record for the fastest 800 meters run while juggling.
