Sorority hosts daddy/daughter dance

WOODLAWN — Omicron Alpha Sorority of Delta Theta Tau is holding its first Valentine’s Day Daddy Daughter Dance, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 9 at Woodlawn Grade School.

The event is open to all fathers, including grandfathers, uncles and others and their daughters in kindergarten through eighth grade from Jefferson County.

The cost is $25 for dad and daughter to attend. Should more than one daughter like to attend, there is an additional $5 cost.

Midwest Sound and Light will provide the music and fun throughout the evening. Each Daddy and Daughter couple will receive a free photo with additional photos available for purchase for $5; prize drawings will be held throughout the evening; punch and refreshments will be served. Each young lady will be given a table favor to take home as a souvenir from their special evening with their dad.

All proceeds from the event are returned to our community through high school scholarships, medical expense donations, the Giving Tree, senior citizen Christmas party, Santa Breakfast and the winter coat program for students.
