Salem Odd Fellows Honor Members For Years Of Service
On Monday evening Salem’s Odd Fellows Lodge #114 honored two members for their years of service to the organization. Albert McGee was awarded a pin for his 50 years of membership and Elwood Hays was awarded a pin for 40 years. McGee joined fifty years ago to the day, Jan. 8, 1968, and Hays joined in 1976.
Of the fifty seven attendees there was one representative of the U.S. Sovereign Grand Lodge, two representatives from the Illinois Grand Lodge, one member from St. Louis lodge #4 and Salem Mayor, Rex Barbee. Families of the two honorees were also welcomed. Dinner was served, Grand Instructor Rich Herring, Representative of the United States Sovereign Lodge, awarded the pins to Hays and McGee. A reception with cake and fellowship ended up the evening.
