Rededication of the World War II Memorial
The City of Centralia Veterans’ Affairs Committee is proud to announce a very special event on Saturday, May the 23rd. There will be a Rededication of the World War II Memorial to be placed upon a granite stone in Fairview Park. The Committee remains vigilant in attempting to bring continuous honor to the men and women in uniform who have given so much of themselves for America and our community.
In past years the Committee has provided a 4th of July veterans’ parade, raised funds to buy and place throughout the City, American flags to be flown during veterans’ holidays, and the upcoming crowning achievement of honoring the “Greatest Generation” with the rededication memorial.
Please consider attending this event with your loved ones from this era with family and friends. Lunch will be served (donation only) from 11:30 to 1:00 pm with the ceremony beginning at 1:00. During the lunch time and until the 1:00 o’clock hour will be a variety of patriotic music performers, displays of military paraphernalia, and other thematic presentations. The program will include World War II veterans’ comments and other patriotic presentations.
The ceremony will be held in the circle drive near the East entrance of Fairview Park. Join us as we honor our Country and our Community.
