Reagan Tribute Dinner with guest speaker Sgt. Sammy L. Davis

The first annual Marion County President Reagan Tribute Dinner was held Saturday, February 8 at the Salem Community Activities Center to celebrate the 40th anniversary of electing #40! The guest speaker was “the real Forrest Gump,” Sergeant First Class Sammy L. Davis, whose heroics during the Vietnam War was part of the making of the movie Forrest Gump. Hosted by the Republican Chicks of Marion County, the event was emceed by Mark Decker. The soloist for the evening was Chloe Beal. During the evening there was a live auction, auctioning off Sgt. Davis’s harmonica. A large crowd was in attendance. The Reagan Tribute Dinner will continue to be an annual event.
