KC to offer Virtual TEAS Testing

Nursing and Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) students planning to start at Kaskaskia College this fall can now begin scheduling to take their Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). Students will register for the test as usual, but due to safe distancing requirements, they will take the test on their personal computers with college staff monitoring it from their home computers. This will be done through a third party testing service called “Proctorio”, who will verify the tester’s identity and monitor the student’s computer during the exam session.

To complete the TEAS test through Proctorio the student must use a computer or laptop, a webcam (either built into the computer or an externally installed webcam), a microphone (either installed or an external microphone plugged into the computer), a reliable and strong internet connection, a good chrome browser, a photo ID (school ID or government issued), one blank piece of paper to use for notes and a quiet clear test space. No IPads, phones or tablets can be used to take the test.
