KC Awards East Fork Scholarship
The Kaskaskia College Foundation is proud to announce that Kelsey Carter of Sandoval has been named the recipient of the East Fork Conservation Club Scholarship.
Kelsey is a 2011 graduate of Sandoval High School and is a sophomore at KC pursuing an Associate Nursing Degree. She is the daughter of Matthew and Laura Carter.
The East Fork Conservation Club of East Fork Township, Clinton County Illinois, was formed by a group of area citizens committed to conservation through preservation of wildlife. On January 29, 1947, membership was established in the Illinois Federation of Sportsman Clubs. Growth has occurred through donations of members and funds, and through club sponsored activities. To create an awareness of conservation, the club supported permit stations for Clinton County controlled pheasant hunts and was active with the Illinois Department of Conservation. Quail populations in the area have been increased through the club’s dedication to raise and release birds. To continue the organizations commitment to conservation, a scholarship in honor of its past, present and future members will be awarded to a candidate who exemplifies future conservation efforts.
