KC Announces Modes of Instruction for Fall 2020 Semester
Kaskaskia College is pleased to announce that plans are now moving forward with the Fall 2020 Semester in order to deliver quality instruction.
Face-to-Face classes will meet on the KC Main Campus and at all education centers from August 17 to November 25. Most classes, with the exception of classes with lab or clinical components that cannot be completed online, will shift to online starting on November 30 through December 11.
All online classes will be conducted through Canvas and students will work through course materials with their instructors.
Blended and Flexible Blended classes will also be available. Blended classes will meet partially on the KC main campus or education center and partially online. Flexible Blended classes will meet with students and faculty working together to choose to come to campus, stay home and watch a live stream or watch the recorded class before the next course section.
Vice President of Instruction, Dr. Ashley Becker says of plans for fall, “We are excited to welcome back students and faculty this fall. Our biggest priority is to keep students and faculty safe. Our faculty have been resilient throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and I am looking forward to seeing their innovation within the classroom this Fall to keep students safe, while still providing a world class educational experience.”
If for any reason, due to social distancing requirements enacted by the State of Illinois or Federal agencies, classes will transition to fully online and students will meet with their instructors during the scheduled times. In this case, students will need a minimum of a computer, webcam and reliable internet service.
