KC Agriculture Building Dedicates Farm Credit Conference Loft
It was another great day for the Kaskaskia College Agriculture Program as Farm Credit of Illinois donated $50,000 to help the KC Program with additional resources for its students.
The upstairs conference area will now be known as the Farm Credit Conference Loft. Many KC representatives spoke on the importance of local partnerships and how these efforts will provide wonderful opportunities for students and the local community.
KC President and CEO, Dr. Penny Quinn thanked the KC Agriculture students for attending the ceremony and also thanked Farm Credit for their willingness to stay connected to young people. She added, “We cannot be successful without the support of others willing to assist with projects such as this. This donation will help many students as they move forward toward their career goals”.
Vice President of the KC Trustees, Dr. Dee Boswell told the large crowd in attendance that “We cannot thank Farm Credit enough for what they have done for KC. This donation will allow us to continue to provide quality education for our students.” Boswell added that the “KC Agriculture Program is one of the best programs in the state as well as one of the fast growing at the College.”
Aaron Heinzmann, Agriculture Professor at Kaskaskia College also thank the large group of constituents from Farm Credit for the donation and added that it will help them grow the program even more. “Our motto has been to find, recruit and retain students in our program and I believe we have some of the best Ag students in the state and this donation will allow us to find and retain more students into the program.
KC student Kaitlyn Rutz of Highland also gave a thank you from the KC students to Farm Credit and told them the donation will allow KC to leave a legacy for its students.
Farm Credit CEO, Tom Tracy was on hand for the ceremony and said “Agriculture is a fundamentals good industry and we at Farm Credit are happy to be able to help the KC Agriculture Program with this donation. Farm Credit’s core purpose is to help farm families succeed and we are proud to help this program also succeed.”
